About Laurece
Laurece West
Laurece trained as an LPN in N.C. at Duke and regional hospitals. She practiced medical-surgical and geriatric nursing. With concentrations in Music and English, she holds a BA cum laude in Biology from Mt.Holyoke College. Laurece did medical research for fourteen years at UNC, Rockefeller University, Columbia University and Mt. Sinai Medical Center. She co-authored four publications in respected medical journals under her maiden name Beth L. Naprstek. (See www.Conscious-Core.com for the list of publications.)
Laurece studied energy and coaching techniques in the U.S. and Canada. She trained in massage therapy at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. For almost 12 years she was a Kripalu Healing Arts staff member, doing stone, aromatherapy, reflexology, and ayurvedic massages, as well as coaching and energy modalities. Over time, it became clear that her passion was the coaching and energy work she did with clients.
Laurece co-created Conscious Core Transformation and brought it to Kripalu, training other therapists. CCT was a featured modality at Kripalu for ten years, from 1999-2009. She has participated in northern Native American ceremonies for 18 years. Under the direction of Alberto Villoldo and the Light Body School, she studied shamanic tracking and energy medicine from the lineage of the Q'ero Indians, the Peruvian Indigenous elders from the Andes. In 2008, she revived the Shamanic Energy Work modality at Kripalu. June 2009, she completed Ray Crist's 'Yoga and Shamanism' training program in Great Barrington, MA. Laurece previously held LPN and LMT licenses in MA.
